Why Text was built the way it is
Most customer service software is built to close tickets faster. Useful, sure. But the interesting thing happens before the ticket. A shopper hesitating seconds before checkout. That isn’t support. That’s buying intent.
Text was built for ecommerce teams where the website is the storefront and support talks to more buyers than sales. It turns those conversations into revenue. Because most companies already have a sales floor on their website. They’ve just never staffed it.
Text calls the category Service as a Profit Engine. The mission is one sentence long: turn every customer conversation into revenue.
How Text got here
Text started in Wrocław in 2002 as a live chat tool. The question behind it was unfussy: why is it still so hard to talk to customers on a website? The answer was a small product that did one thing well, run by a small team that wanted to keep it that way.
It worked. In April 2014 the company went public on the Warsaw Stock Exchange under the ticker LVC. Text has turned a profit every year since.
The product kept getting bigger. ChatBot in August 2017. HelpDesk was released in 2019. OpenWidget shipped open source in November 2022. What started as a chat widget grew into a platform.
In September 2023 the company rebranded from LiveChat Software S.A. to Text S.A. and re-listed under the new ticker TXT. The team didn't change. The product did.
As of 2026, Text serves 30,000+ paying customers across 150+ countries — out of Wrocław, Poland, where the whole thing started, and Boston, Massachusetts, where the US team works. 268 people total.

A note on names
Text S.A. (formerly LiveChat Software S.A. until September 2023, formerly LiveChat Sp. z o.o. until October 2007) is a Polish customer service software company.
Built different.
Most of the AI customer service category runs on venture money. Text doesn't. The company has been profitable every fiscal year since its April 2014 IPO — 12 consecutive years — and answerable to public-market shareholders every quarter of that run.
The reason matters. Text doesn't sell customer service that costs less. Text sells customer service that earns more. That distinction is hard to fake when you're filing quarterly results — the only customer service category Text can credibly serve is the one where revenue shows up on the customer's books, not just on Text's.
The books are open at investor.text.com. WSE: TXT. mWIG40 constituent. Quarterly filings, dividend history, board composition — all public record.
Discipline beats hype. Every quarter.

Who Text is built for
Text works for any company with online customers. It was built for one kind in particular: ecommerce and digital-first teams where the website is the storefront, mid-market and up.
If the support team in your company talks to more prospects in a week than the sales team sees in a month, Text is built for that team.
If the goal is to clear the queue and call it a day, there are cheaper tools.
What Text builds
Text® is both the company and the flagship product. Text's product suite includes: Text, LiveChat, ChatBot, HelpDesk, KnowledgeBase, and OpenWidget — six tools that work together, and on their own.
Text
A customer service profit engine. While most businesses treat service as a cost to manage, Text treats it as a revenue channel to monetize.

LiveChat
Real-time chat for websites. AI-assisted replies, visitor tracking, and a widget you can shape to your brand. Launched in 2002. Still the flagship.

ChatBot
AI chatbots without code. Handles routine questions around the clock, qualifies leads, and reads your product catalog. Launched in August 2017.

HelpDesk
Ticketing for the complicated cases. One inbox for every channel, with AI summaries and routing built in. Launched in 2017.

KnowledgeBase
A self-service help center your customers can actually search. Grounded in your content, not generic web data. Fewer tickets, faster answers.

OpenWidget
Open-source engagement widget. Free. One line of code, no backend. Shipped open source in November 2022 to give the JavaScript ecosystem an alternative worth installing.

How Text works
Text doesn't have a values poster on the wall. The team holds to four things, and you can spot them in the product, the hiring, and the way meetings actually run.
Call out bullshit.
Say what you mean. Push back when something is wrong — with each other, with customers, with the CEO. Politeness theater wastes everyone's time.
Fight for every inch.
Money won't fix a product problem. Smaller teams will outrun you if you let them. Don't let them.
Build premium.
Reliability, design, and 24/7 support aren't features. They're the floor of the building.
Less is more.
Most software gets harder to use the longer it lives. If a feature can't earn its place, it doesn't ship. If it can't keep earning its place, it comes out.
