When the AI agent recommends a product with variants, visitors can now pick the size, the color, or whatever option the product offers, and add the item to their cart without leaving the conversation. The product card carries the selector. The visitor taps the variant they want, taps add to cart, and the item is on its way to checkout.
The full Shopify catalog, in the chat
Around half of the products in a Shopify store come with variants. Variant selection inside the widget brings all of them into the in-chat purchase flow. The AI agent recommends the product, the visitor picks the version they want, and the cart action happens in the same window the conversation started in.

The biggest step since the Selling Skill
Add to cart for single-variant products shipped two weeks ago. Variant selection was the next iteration on the roadmap. It is the step that makes the in-chat purchase flow complete: a sale can start, get configured, and finish for the broad majority of products on a store without the visitor ever changing tabs.
Put together with the Selling Skill running on the AI agent, the chat widget is now the place a recommendation, a choice, and a closed sale all live together.
Why closing inside the chat matters
Visitors who chat convert at 266% higher rates than visitors who only browse. AI spots the signal, the agent stays in the conversation, and the visitor completes the purchase right there. Every step the visitor does not have to take is a step that does not cost the sale.
Available now
Variant selection is live today for Shopify stores running the AI agent with product recommendations turned on. There is nothing to configure. When the agent recommends a product that has variants, the card shows the selector automatically.
